Filmed throughout the stunning virtual landscape of Connemara, Brú Theatre has created three unique 180° films which will be shown on VR headsets in arts centres and coastal venues along the Atlantic coast.

Irish language literature and visual poetry combine to create this immersive experience, inspired by texts from Máirtín Ó Cadhain, Pádraic Ó Conaire and Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill. The VR presentation will tour to Gaeltacht and island communities in Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Kerry and Cork. As a small audience group, audiences will be invited to enjoy the scenery, soundscape, atmosphere and energy of the Atlantic before adorning a headset and losing themselves in these magical short films.

Through performance, music, song and contemporary dance, each film is a powerful, evocative and contemporary take on some of the finest writing in the Irish language, produced by Brú Theatre’s team of composers, designers and performers led by artistic director James Riordan.

Ar Ais Arís is a virtual reality presentation by Brú Theatre, commissioned by Galway 2020 /  Áistriú project.

Cur i láthair sa réaltacht fhíorúil is ea Ar Ais Arís le Brú Theatre, arna choimisiúnú ag Gaillimh 2020 / an tionscadal Aistriú.

Agus tírdhreach fíorálainn Chonamara roghnaithe mar shuíomh fíorúil don scannánú d’éirigh le Brú Theatre trí scannán uathúla 180° a chur i dtoll a chéile a bhfuil sé i gceist acu a léiriú, trí ghléas cinn VR, in ionaid ealaíon agus in ionaid tionóil chósta ar chósta an Atlantaigh. Baintear leas as meascán de litríocht agus d’amharc-fhilíocht na Gaeilge chun an t-eispéireas tumthach sin a chruthú, agus téacsanna Mháirtín Uí Chadhain, Phádraic Uí Chonaire agus Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill mar spreagadh do na scannáin.

I gcomhar le Brightening Air | Coiscéim Coiligh, tugtar an lucht féachana ar camchuairt, le cur i láthair VR, timpeall na Gaeltachta agus timpeall na bpobal oileánach i nDún na nGall, Maigh Eo, Gaillimh, Ciarraí agus Corcaigh. Agus tú mar chuid de lucht féachana beag, tabharfar an deis duit sult a bhaint as tírdhreach, fuaimdhreach, atmaisféar agus fuinneamh an Atlantaigh roimh duit gléas cinn a chur ort agus tú féin a chailleadh sna gearrscannáin dhraíochtúla sin. Idir léiriú, cheol, amhráin agus rince comhaimseartha, tugtar léamh cumhachtach, dúisitheach comhaimseartha i ngach scannán ar chuid de scríbhneoireacht na Gaeilge, arna léiriú ag foireann cumadóirí, dearthóirí agus taibheoirí Brú Theatre faoi stiúir James Riordan, an Stiúrthóir Ealaíne.

Tar éis an léirithe, cuirfear fáilte roimh bhaill den lucht féachana tuilleadh a fhoghlaim faoi na húdair sin agus faoi scéalta na foirne. Déanfaidh Brú Theatre gléas cinn VR nua den cháilíocht is fearr a bhronnadh ar gach ceann de na 5 ionad ealaíon áitiúla chun go mbeidh na pobail in ann an t-eispéireas sin, mar aon le heispéireas saothar eile amach as seo, a bheith acu agus b’fhéidir chun iad a spreagadh chun saothair den sórt sin dá gcuid féin a chruthú.
